
The Schweppes Challenge competition provides a pathway from Association level Netball through to the State League competitions. Matches will be played from May through to September at the State Netball Centre, Mt Gravatt.
NOMINATION PROCEDURES
· Associations may only nominate one (1) team in each age group.
· Two (2) small Associations may combine to enter a team in the Schweppes Challenge if approved by Netball Queensland.
· The minimum age for players in the Schweppes Challenge competition is 15 years (turning 15 years in 2010 ΰ Born 1995)
· Late nominations will be accepted at the discretion of Netball Queensland and a fee of $100 per team will apply.
· All Forms and payments are to be submitted to Netball Queensland on or before the closing date stipulated on the bottom of each form.
· All nominated teams will participate in the Schweppes Challenge Grading Trials weekend.
GRADING TRIALS
Grading Trials will be held at the State Netball Centre on Friday 12th March; Saturday 13th March and Sunday 14th March to determine the teams that will be admitted into the 2010 competition.
The Grading Trials Nomination Fee of $100 per team is non-refundable.

Please note, if less than fourteen (14) teams nominate in an age group, then only one (1) division will be formed.
RESULTS
· All teams entering the Schweppes Challenge MUST supply an Umpire who holds a minimum National C Badge and is a registered member of Netball Queensland.
· Each Umpire will be included in a pool of Umpires and will be allocated to games by Netball Queensland. Umpires will not necessarily be allocated to matches within their teams division.
· Umpires will be allocated to matches on a weekly basis by an Appointments Panel.
· Umpires MUST be available to umpire for the full competition i.e. rounds (including byes) and the Final Series. Umpires may be allocated to umpire during the Final Series, irrespective of whether their team goes through to the Finals.
· A fee of $400 per team is payable to cover all Umpiring costs during the season including finals.
SCORING & TIMING
Associations must nominate AT LEAST two (2) official Scorers and two (2) official Timers per team. In the event that these four (4) personnel are not listed on the nomination form, the team nomination will not be accepted.
EMERGENCY CONTACT
In the case that a team may arrive after the scheduled starting time for a match (due to unavoidable circumstances such as an accident / flooding etc), the team Manager MUST contact the Coordinator of Supervisors (Madonna McKenna Ph: 0429 983 019) prior to arrival and ASAP. Up to fifteen (15) minutes delay of start time may be granted at the discretion of the NQ appointed Supervisor/s on duty.

MANAGER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Managers are responsible for:
· Handing signed team sheet to score bench no later than fifteen (15) minutes prior to commencement of match.
· Completing substitution forms with any changes during quarter breaks and handing to score bench prior to the thirty (30) second whistle to presume play. Both players replaced and replacement player/s names are to be recorded on substitution forms.
· Completing substitution forms in case of injury. Substitution forms are to be handed to score bench immediately after a substitution is made.
· Players wearing the correct uniform, including socks and briefs. Managers should also ensure players are wearing the uniform appropriately and in the correct fashion.
· The arrangement of the team bench (eg. bags must be under / behind bench etc.) Managers to ensure that the only persons allowed on the bench are the Coach, Manager, Assistant Coach, Primary Carer, and Players.
· Filling water bottles and ensuring all players are re-hydrating during intervals.
· Organising Scorer and Timer to present themselves at the score bench at least fifteen (15) minutes prior to commencement of match.
· Clearing / tidying and vacating team bench ASAP after completion of match to allow for incoming teams. Please ensure all rubbish (eg. used tissues, strapping tape, water bottles etc.) is cleared from area before leaving bench.
· Confirmation of all registered players and must be able to provide evidence that players are registered members of the relevant Association.
