NETBALL QUEENSLANDS ‘GAME PLAN’
Netball Queensland’s 2010 ‘Game Plan’ will be released shortly.
Associations are asked to submit a ‘Game Plan’ to show how they intend to strategically deliver the True Sport Lives Here message. This is an important process to show that Association’s are starting to think about ways of encouraging positive behaviour in their sporting environment and have a plan in place.
It is also important that you provide details of specific examples or planned activities when you are identifying ways of promoting True Sport. For example, you may identify Association Sign on Days as a great chance to promote the True Sport Lives Here message, you then need to go one step further and provide us with specific activities that will take place on the day to promote True Sport, for example ground announcements and many more.
Another example may be Associations Presentation day, presenting teams with True Sport Lives Here awards such as Most Improved Player, Best Supporter, Team Spirit, Good Sportsmanship, Certificate of Appreciation and Fairest Player Award. Social sport and family fun days are another great way of promoting True Sport in your Associations. There are many activities you can do to promote True Sport, encourage parents and children to participate together as a team, provide an opportunity for all participants to switch roles i.e. a parent or player may officiate a friendly game, present True Sport Awards, attract new members to your club through a letter box drop in your local neighbourhood or advertise in the local community paper. There are many fun filled activities that you can do to promote a positive and fun experience for all your members.
This is not meant to be a complex document it will simply provide Netball Queensland and your Association with a plan of action to implement the True Sport message.
