How long does each course take?
Netball Queensland offers the Sport Specific Foundation course that takes four hours to complete. To attend this course each participant must complete the ASC free online Beginning Coaching Gerenal Principles Course. The Development course takes 7 hours to complete.The Intermediate course takes 8 hours to complete.
Are there any age restrictions to attend a coaching accreditation course?
Yes, you must be at least 14 years of age to be eligible for Foundation Coaching accreditation, 15 years to be eligible for Development Coaching Accreditation, and 16 years for Intermediate coaching accreditation
I have attended an OTC course in the past. Where does that fit into the new coaching framework?
The OTC course was not part of the coaching accreditation program. To become an accredited coach you would need to attend the first stage of the accreditation process, the Foundation Coaching Course.
Can I do the Foundation Course on line?
You can do some modules of the Foundation course on line. These are the “Beginning Coaching General Principles” You would then be eligible to attend a 4 hour Sport Specific version of the Foundation Course.
How do I do the Beginning Coaching General Principles online?
Go to the Australian Sports Commission website: https://learning.ausport.gov.au This course is free and you will be able to print of a certificate once complete.
I used to be accredited as a Level One coach. What do I have to do?
Level one coaches will be recognized as Development coaches from the 1st of January 2008. They will still need to meet updating criteria to remain accredited after their current expiry date.
